When I first moved to San Francisco in 2001, I developed a series called if I were king. Part of this body of work incorporated sketching crowns in the Broadway Tunnel and other areas around San Francisco. Moving away from the king’s crown and permanent Sharpie pens to vinyl lettering and cultural idioms, I developed the personal tag c’est moi chérie and shifted the work out of San Francisco, and into Berlin, Antwerp, and Ibiza.
